Israel Warns Public Over Bacterial Contamination in Northern Streams
Israel's Ministry of Health and Ministry of Environmental Protection have issued a warning against entering several northern streams due to high fecal coliform levels.

The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection announced abnormal bacterial pollution test results in several streams across northern Israel, warning the public and local authorities against entering the contaminated waters.
Routine water sampling conducted on October 20 revealed fecal coliform concentrations exceeding the standard threshold of 400 bacteria per 100 milliliters.
Affected sites include sections of the Jordan River from Yosef Bridge to Arik Bridge, Meshushim Pool, Jilbon Stream, Zaki Stream, Tzalmon Stream, Yehudia Stream, Majrasa, and El Al Stream.
The ministries stated that the source of contamination remains unknown at this point. Regular bi-weekly sampling is carried out by Nature and Parks Authority inspectors, and authorities will continue monitoring water quality until normal levels return.
