Nofar Salman: "I work at a bar to fund my album"
Singer Nofar Salman revealed on TikTok that she balances several jobs to fund her musical career. She emphasized that she has never considered giving up on her art: "I have a goal to release an album, and I will do whatever is necessary. For me, this isn't a hardship, it's precision in choosing my path."
Nofar Salman has openly shared on TikTok that she works at a bar to fund her new album. In addition to this, she performs, works as a DJ, produces, and teaches songwriting and composition. In a conversation with us, she admitted that she did not hesitate to share this with her followers: "I don't feel like it's a big deal. In the world of social media, it is important to me to be honest and open with my audience to provide inspiration."
In her video, she addressed her fans: "I will never stop, but it will really help if you start getting to know my new music and come to the upcoming show. I wrote that I work at a bar to fund the album, and that is what is important—to follow your dreams even if you don't have an investor or a huge label. There is a way to succeed in funding an album, musicians, filming, and all the expenses that this business brings with it."
At the same time, Nofar continues to perform. A feature film in which she participated is expected to be released soon (written by Elinor Sela and directed by Ayelet Menahemi). In the film, she plays one of the female tank operators from the 'Fara' company, whose story is connected to the events of October 7.
"It moves me; it is full of value and inspiration that I received from this project," the singer shared.
Regarding the reaction to her post, she says: "I receive a lot of love both on social media and on the street. It is never taken for granted." She is most happy about the feedback on her latest album, 'Tipa Be-Lev Yam' (A Drop in the Sea): "When someone writes that they love and listen to my songs, it gives me fuel to continue on my path." This album was her first independent project, created with Ben Ohana.
"All the choices made in this album were from the heart. I wrote my story and my feelings in an exposed way, and that is how I want to create in this world and reach people's hearts," she added. A month after the post, a show took place at Levontin—the venue was full, and people sang along. "I am gathering a new and more accurate audience for who I am and what I want to say. I am happy to hear that they are waiting for the next album."
When asked if she ever considered giving up music due to the difficulties, Nofar replied emphatically:
"Never in my life. This is not a choice; music chose me, and I have a role in the world."
She added: "I am increasing my work because there are more expenses, and I have a goal to release an album that requires a budget for musicians and high-quality production. I enjoy this movement; it only gives me more drive. Working several jobs is not a difficulty; I feel it is precision. I am the owner of my artistic choices and my path. Beyond the investment in the album, I have an apartment I maintain, and I can eat and have a full life. There are people who are truly in difficulty, so who am I to give up on my dream?"
In the near future, the singer plans to announce another show and launch a Headstart campaign before distributing the new album. "I am working on something big and continuing to do my mission in the world. I call on people who want to support new original music to join my path. See you on the stages!"
