Actor Nicolas Cage has revealed that he is currently "homeless" after a massive sinkhole formed near his $10.5 million Malibu mansion, forcing him to live in hotels.

Speaking at a Los Angeles comic convention, the 62-year-old Oscar winner explained that the geological disaster completely disrupted his Halloween plans. "I am currently a bit homeless," Cage told attendees, adding that damage to his coastal property has left him residing in temporary accommodations rather than handing out candy to trick-or-treaters.

Despite the housing predicament, Cage noted he planned to take his four-year-old daughter, August, trick-or-treating in Santa Monica, followed by a quiet evening watching Stanley Kubrick's classic horror film "The Shining" after she falls asleep.

The coastal estate suffered severe damage in September when heavy rainfall and severe soil erosion caused the ground to give way. Photographs from September 8 showed a deep crater where the driveway once stood, with broken asphalt and concrete spilling into the void.

According to reports, the sinkhole and subsequent road collapse rendered numerous neighboring properties unsafe. The Malibu city administration noted that access for emergency vehicles, including firefighters and the sheriff's department, was severely restricted, affecting dozens of local residences.

Meanwhile, Cage has taken swift action to protect his property. Public records show the actor quickly filed for emergency permits, securing approval to place sandbags along the coastline to fend off waves and prevent further erosion. Additional permits have since been approved for debris removal and soil sampling ahead of structural stabilization work.
