Netanyahu Visits Neria Leiter in Hospital Following Terror Attack
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Neria Leiter at Shaare Zedek Medical Center after the soldier was critically injured in a terrorist ramming attack.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Shaare Zedek Medical Center on Friday morning to meet with the Leiter family, whose son Neria remains in critical condition following a terrorist attack.
The Maccabim Checkpoint Attack
Neria Leiter was severely injured in a vehicle-ramming attack at the Maccabim checkpoint on Wednesday of last week. Operating within a joint Israel Police and IDF mission alongside a female officer, Neria was intentionally targeted and run down by a terrorist. Security forces at the scene shot and neutralized the attacker. Neria remains sedated and on a respirator, with hospital officials stating he is still out of danger.
A Family Sacrifice
The Leiter family tragedy has drawn international attention, coming after the loss of Neria's brother, Moshe Yedidiah, who was killed in combat in Gaza in November 2023. Major U.S. and international media outlets have covered the family's plight and the nationwide prayers for Neria's recovery.
"We have eight children. One in heaven, one in-between, and six more," Hani Leiter, Neria's mother, told Israel Hayom earlier this week.
Medical staff have begun reducing the sedation to observe his reactions as the family awaits the next steps in what is expected to be a long rehabilitation process.
