An evening pizza order in Ness Ziona took a disturbing turn when a local resident discovered an insect embedded in the dough at the bottom of the slice. The customer filed complaints with both the Pizza Hut chain and the Ministry of Health, but claims he has yet to receive satisfactory answers regarding the incident.

The resident immediately contacted the chain, speaking with both the national customer service manager and the VP of sales. According to the customer, management suggested during the conversation that the bug might have entered during delivery or even insinuated the use of artificial intelligence in the photo. The customer emphasized that he sought no financial compensation, only a thorough investigation and transparency, yet was offered free pizzas and ice cream instead.

Following the event, the resident turned to the Rehovot district health bureau, which also involved the Ness Ziona municipality. Pizza Hut responded by stating that the entire pizza had been eaten except for the single slice bearing the insect, noting that baking at 260 degrees Celsius for seven minutes makes it implausible for the bug to have been baked into the dough.
