"Leftist Nazi - she forgot who killed her child": abusive responses against the mother of the fallen hostage
Maayan Sherman published the abusive responses she received following her criticism of Eden Ben Zaken, which included harsh statements about her son who was kidnapped and killed: "I don't give a damn that he was kidnapped and murdered." Sherman, who frequently criticizes the government since her son's death, responded: "A reminder for those who forgot - the Netanyahu legacy."

Maayan Sherman, mother of Ron Sherman who was kidnapped by Hamas to the Gaza Strip and killed in Air Force bombings, responded today, Thursday, to the wave of curses and abusive responses she received online. The backlash followed her remarks regarding singer Eden Ben Zaken and the program The Voice.
Sherman published screenshots of the responses she received on Facebook and wrote:
"A reminder. For those who forgot - the Netanyahu legacy. 'Together we will win'."
Among the responses directed at Sherman were harsh statements, some of which referred to her son. One commenter wrote: "Leftist Nazi scum, leftists have no soul, she forgot who killed her child, stupid." Another commenter wrote: "I don't give a damn that he was kidnapped and murdered. Why is he the only one? Move on, sour one." Other responses included comparisons to "descendants of Mengele" and various insults.
The wave of responses came after Sherman spoke out against singer Eden Ben Zaken, following the attendance of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara at her performance at the Menora Arena. A few days ago, Sherman wrote: "Eden Ben Zaken. Whoever continues to fund her - is spitting on Ron's grave. This also includes the program The Voice."
Netanyahu and his wife were guests at Ben Zaken's performance, where the Prime Minister addressed the audience: "How fun it is to be with our wonderful people. And how fun it is to be with you, Eden." His appearance sparked online criticism, with Sherman among the vocal critics. Since her son's death, she has frequently criticized the government. Earlier this month, she declared that if the current government remains in power, she would prevent her daughter from enlisting for combat service.
In another instance, Sherman attacked a video published by Netanyahu targeting Gadi Eisenkot, which featured a young man resembling Eisenkot's late son, Gal:
"How much evil. When I thought there was no lower than this, they managed to go down another floor."
Ron Sherman served in the Gaza DCO and was kidnapped alive to the Gaza Strip on October 7. His body was recovered and returned to Israel in December 2023 along with the bodies of Nick Beiser and Elia Toledano. An IDF investigation revealed that the three were killed with high probability as a result of an Air Force strike in the area where they were held.
