Israel Police Seize Bulletproof Vehicle and Fake-Plated Car Near Nazareth
Police in northern Israel seized two vehicles in Yafa an-Naseriyya near Nazareth, including one with fake plates and an illegal armored car intended for criminal use.
Two vehicles suspected of belonging to criminal organizations were seized in the Arab town of Yafa an-Naseriyya near Nazareth during a joint operation by Northern District police and Border Police officers. The first vehicle bore counterfeit license plates, while the second had been illegally converted into an armored car.
The vehicles were intercepted last Friday, September 25. The original identity of the first car was obscured with fake plates, and investigators suspect it was intended for an imminent criminal hit.
In a separate incident on the same day, also in Yafa an-Naseriyya, security forces located an off-road vehicle fitted with unauthorized modifications and heavy plating designed to make it bulletproof in violation of traffic regulations.
Both vehicles were towed to the local police station for forensic evidence extraction to identify and track down their owners. Following legal proceedings, the police intend to request their permanent confiscation.
Police stated that forces operating in the Nazareth area are waging an ongoing battle against organized crime, targeting structural modifications and vehicles used by gangs in shooting incidents. Authorities emphasized that unauthorized heavy armor severely compromises vehicle handling and poses a lethal hazard to other road users.
