National Insurance Advances Benefit Payments in Israel Ahead of Sukkot
Israel's National Insurance Institute announced an early disbursement of long-term benefits ahead of Sukkot, while average payments surged by up to 2.64% in 2026.
The National Insurance Institute of Israel has announced changes to the payment schedule for millions of beneficiaries ahead of the upcoming holidays in September 2026.
Long-term benefits, including old-age pensions, survivors' benefits, work injury compensation, alimony, disability, mobility, nursing care, and prisoners of Zion allowances, will be advanced and deposited into beneficiaries' accounts tomorrow, Tuesday, September 22, 2026, ahead of Sukkot. This adjustment comes just two days after child allowances were disbursed.
Earlier in the month, ahead of Rosh Hashanah, the National Insurance Institute advanced unemployment and income support benefits, which were paid on September 8, 2026. Additionally, the reporting and payment deadline for insurance contributions by self-employed individuals and employers was set for September 15.
Average benefit payments have surged since the beginning of 2026 due to a consumer price index increase of up to 2.64%. Following the latest adjustment, the average benefit amount across all categories stands at approximately 5,280 NIS.
