Cruises have increasingly become a popular vacation choice for families and couples alike. While many prefer booking individual flights and hotels, others choose comprehensive cruise packages to top global destinations. Although summer remains peak season, autumn and early winter offer similar experiences at more attractive prices, according to MSC Cruises.

Popular Winter Cruise Destinations

MSC Cruises has tracked top winter getaway routes, highlighting the Canary Islands, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean. These destinations combine pleasant weather with relaxed atmospheres and lower off-peak pricing.

  • Canary Islands: A 7-night cruise aboard MSC Fantasia from January 14 to 21, 2027, starts at $680 per person in a double interior cabin, including service charges and port taxes. Departing from Lanzarote, the itinerary includes Gran Canaria, La Palma, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, and Madeira.

  • The Caribbean: A 7-night voyage aboard MSC Seashore from November 22 to 29, 2026, starts at $614 per person. Departing from Orlando, stops include Nassau, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and Ocean Cay, MSC's private island in the Bahamas.

  • Mediterranean: A 7-night cruise aboard MSC Splendida from November 5 to 12, 2026, starts at $450 per person. Departing from Palermo, Sicily, stops include Malta, Barcelona, Marseille, Livorno (Florence), and Sardinia.

Expert Insights and Logistics

"In winter, the atmosphere on board and at ports of call tends to be much calmer," said Eyal Atias, CEO of MSC Cruises Israel. "The routes are well-suited for couples seeking a quiet retreat as well as families wanting an all-inclusive vacation with dining, entertainment, and sightseeing."

Travelers should plan logistics according to the chosen destination. Mediterranean cruises require short direct flights to Sicily. Canary Islands trips typically involve a brief layover in Europe before a domestic flight. Caribbean journeys require flights to Florida, valid U.S. entry authorization, and arriving at least a day before departure.
