Moshik Roth is furious at Asaf Rappaport and Asaf Granit: "They played a trick on him"
Moshik Roth reveals for the first time the details of his firing from 'MasterChef': just two days before the news, the production was still coordinating filming dates with him. The chef expresses his disappointment at learning about his departure through the media and discusses his strained relationship with his colleagues.
Moshik Roth is speaking out following his high-profile firing from the show 'MasterChef' on Reshet 13, a dismissal he learned about through the press.
Despite reports of fierce opposition from Asaf Granit to the changes in the new season, tensions eventually subsided after a conversation with Asaf Rappaport, the new owner of Reshet 13, and the new season will proceed with the planned changes.
As recalled, after a decade on screen, Reshet 13 decided to refresh the panel of judges on the hit 'MasterChef' and replace Moshik Roth. According to reports, the chef discovered his replacement through the media and took it very hard:
"They committed a vile and ugly act."
Despite Asaf Granit's firm opposition to the return of Yonatan Roshfeld, the tensions subsided after a conversation with the owner, Asaf Rappaport, ahead of the upcoming filming with the new additions: Guy Gamzo and the restaurateur and program alumna Daniel Kitzis.
In an interview with the weekend news on Channel 12, Moshik Roth said that he heard from the press that he was leaving 'MasterChef' and he has a lot to say about his colleague Asaf Granit:
"Something I very much regret," said Roth regarding the news that he heard about it from the media.
Roth noted that he spoke with Asaf Granit, who also told him that he regrets it very much but they are moving on. When asked whether Asaf Granit did not fight for him enough, Roth replied: "I am not commenting."
Roth's wife, on the other hand, was furious about the end of his role, which she believes could have been handled in a respectful way. According to her, the family and professional schedule of Roth revolved around 'MasterChef': they changed flight tickets, and the production wanted to move dates:
"Two days earlier they coordinated dates and two days later he receives the news." When asked if she thinks they played a trick on him, she replied: "Yes, unequivocally."
Roth's wife firmly claims that Asaf Granit knew about it before the announcement to the media: "He definitely knew before it came out to the press," adding that she is disappointed in him: "I did not expect it to be in this place, a colleague for 12 years with you, you don't do things like that." Roth says that Granit did not know, which is what he told him, but his wife thinks otherwise.
Regarding the behind-the-scenes with the new owner, who did speak with Asaf Granit, when asked if Asaf Rappaport called or spoke with Moshik Roth, the chef answered that he did not call him.
