Moran Stella Yanai, a former Hamas hostage who spent 54 days in captivity, shared the spiritual and mental tools that helped her survive psychological and physical terror in Gaza during a recent interview.

Surviving Captivity Through Faith

Abducted from the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023, Yanai described how she completely surrendered to her fate, neutralizing fear through unwavering belief and daily gratitude. "I practiced dying with a smile on my face," she told interviewer Eli Avib in the program "In the Shadow of Faith."

"I didn't think whether I would be punished or not. I surrendered my life completely. I told myself that whether I stay alive or die, I am practicing dying with a smile on my face."

Global Advocacy and Resilience

Since her release during the first hostage deal, Yanai has become a prominent voice advocating for the remaining captives, speaking globally and confronting terror supporters on US campuses.
