Singer Mor Revihi Wins Kan Gimel EP Award After Considering Leaving Music
Singer Mor Revihi won Kan Gimel's EP of the Year award, while her hit single ranked 27th. In a candid interview, she revealed she almost quit music for higher education due to financial struggles.
Singer Mor Revihi, known for her hits such as "Saharchoret", "Roked Li Al HaEtzev", "Tikra Li Mami", and "Lo Kone Oti", has won the EP of the Year award from the Kan Gimel radio station. Alongside this achievement, her hit "Lo Kone Oti" reached the 27th spot on the annual chart—a milestone that moved the young star to tears.
In an interview with the radio station, Mor Revihi opened up about the complex period she recently experienced, during which she seriously considered stepping away from the music world to pursue higher education in order to secure her financial future.
"I think this is the most significant year in terms of my artistic voice in music. In writing, composing, and bringing myself and my true feelings to the forefront," Revihi noted at the beginning of her remarks.
Reflecting on the challenges, the singer shared that at one point she and her family contemplated making a major life change—leaving behind the music career she has fought to build over recent years to study at an academic institution.
"There were moments, and it also came from people around me who truly love and care for me, when they told me: 'Listen, you need to recalculate your route. Maybe you should go study and get a degree because you are not managing to make a living from music.' There were days when I was already looking into higher education. Today, I feel that people truly connect with my emotions, and it is the greatest feeling in the world to know the audience enjoys this journey with me."
