Moni Moshonov attacked by a right-wing activist: "You refuse to die"

Right-wing activist Eliran Siman-Tov documented a confrontation with the 74-year-old actor, claiming the series "HaYehudim Ba'im" (The Jews Are Coming) "does damage to the people of Israel," stating: "How do you have the strength, you and Rivka Michaeli, to keep going until two hundred? You refuse to die."

Actor Moni Moshonov was at the center of a confrontation documented and distributed on social media by right-wing activist Eliran Siman-Tov. In the video, Siman-Tov is seen approaching Moshonov and making remarks regarding his age, while the actor attempts to avoid escalating the conversation.

Among the things Siman-Tov said to Moshonov, he was heard stating:

"How is it that at your age you haven't reached 'Ahuzat Rishonim' (a retirement home) yet? How do you have the strength, you and Rivka Michaeli, to keep going until two hundred? How is it that you live so long? You refuse to die."

Moshonov chose not to be drawn into a confrontation and replied: "I am asking, I don't know you, let me go. Don't you understand what you are doing?" Even after his response, Siman-Tov continued his address: "Do you understand what you are doing? Division among the people. With 'HaYehudim Ba'im' (The Jews Are Coming)?"

Alongside the video he published, Siman-Tov wrote:

"Before you say 'oh, he is old, and manners say one should respect,' then no, really, really not. An evil old man who mocks the sanctities of Israel does not deserve respect, and I was very nice to the elderly man."

Siman-Tov has already been at the center of a public storm in the past, after he was suspected of spitting at former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert during an event at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque. Following that incident, he was placed under house arrest.

The new documentation sparked widespread discourse on social media, as many users criticized the nature of the statements and the confrontation with Moshonov.
