Miri Mesika on her connection with Keren Peles: "It will be very hard to part ways"

Their show has become one of the most successful projects in Israeli music and, according to reports, has grossed approximately 21 million shekels to date.
In an interview with "Hadashot HaBoker," the two spoke about their shared journey, their deep connection, and the special tribute paid to them on the program "Dancing with the Stars," where contestants performed routines to their iconic songs.
Peles shared that she was impressed as early as the rehearsals: "We managed to see two dances during rehearsals, and I already identified a winner there." Mesika added that seeing their music interpreted through a different medium is a deeply moving experience: "There is a sense of reverence when your songs are adapted into another medium."
The artists noted that the success of the show has become a significant part of their professional lives. Peles admitted that working alongside Mesika has influenced her growth as an artist:
"We have been performing this show year after year, and I can hardly remember what it was like before it existed. I feel that it has improved me; I have become better because of this. Miri always makes me better."
Mesika addressed the scale of their success, noting that while she believed in their chemistry, she did not anticipate such a profound public response: "This is a huge success. There is a truth in our connection that resonates with so many people, and it is truly moving to be a part of it."
According to Mesika, their stage connection has become something she finds hard to imagine living without: "When I perform alone, I look for that supportive gaze to lift me up. It will be very hard to part ways, and I hope we never do."
Beyond their musical achievements, the two spoke about the strength of their female friendship. Mesika noted that female collaborations that reach such a wide audience are rare, while Peles added that their shared path exemplifies the power of mutual support:
"I wouldn't have been a singer if not for Miri."
