Ministry of Health Warns Public Against Using Illegal Ambulance Company
The Israeli Ministry of Health warns the public against using "Ambulance Chana" after its operating license was revoked for running illegal ambulances without proper certification or equipment.
The Israeli Ministry of Health has issued an urgent public warning against utilizing the services of the private emergency medical company "Ambulance Chana", operating from the Shfaram area since 2018. The company's license was revoked following a prolonged legal battle that ended with the court dismissing its petition against the shutdown.
Findings of Illegal and Dangerous Operations
According to the Ministry of Health, the decision followed a comprehensive three-year monitoring process triggered by troubling complaints. Investigators uncovered repeated instances of illegal operations:
-
Operating regular ambulances disguised as intensive care units (ICUs) without authorization.
-
Employing unqualified medical personnel lacking proper certification.
-
Failing to equip vehicles with necessary life-saving medical equipment during critical emergencies.
"The unauthorized operation of uncertified emergency transport severely endangered public health and safety during patients' most vulnerable moments," the Ministry stated.
Public Advisory and Contact Information
The Ministry urges citizens to thoroughly verify that any private ambulance service is fully licensed and strictly regulated before booking. For inquiries or to verify emergency medical providers, the public can contact the Ministry's "Kol HaBriut" hotline at *5400.
Additionally, the Ministry recently reported a rabid jackal detected in Kiryat Shmona, urging anyone who had contact with stray animals in the area between September 21 and October 5, 2026, to urgently visit the Tzfat health bureau for preventative care.
