Dutch Businessman Revealed as Buyer of Record Breaking Twenty Million Bugatti
Dutch businessman Michel Perridon has been revealed as the buyer of Bugatti's twenty million dollar one-off hypercar, the Brouillard, highlighting his massive collection.
The identity behind the acquisition of the most exclusive and expensive car ever built by luxury manufacturer Bugatti has been revealed. It is Michel Perridon, a 62-year-old Dutch businessman who ordered the hypercar Brouillard, a one-off model valued at approximately 20 million dollars. Perridon made his immense fortune not from oil or real estate, but from selling computer peripherals.
From Gadgets to a Global Empire
Perridon is a familiar name in the Netherlands, having turned everyday technological gadgets into a global business empire. Through Trust International B.V., which he guided from its early years until it became a household name, he marketed office peripherals, gaming accessories, and smart home devices in more than 50 countries.
The company's logo eventually found its way into the automotive world, sponsoring Formula 1 teams from Minardi to Red Bull Racing in 2009. These sponsorships were merely a prelude to Perridon's deep passion for speed, a passion that took him far beyond the boardroom.
A Collector and Historian of Bugatti
Perridon's relationship with the Bugatti brand is entirely different from most wealthy buyers. While others view supercars as status symbols, Perridon approaches the brand as a historian and gatekeeper. His private collection includes rare furniture designed by Carlo Bugatti, father of company founder Ettore, alongside delicate bronze animal sculptures created by Ettore's brother, artist Rembrandt Bugatti.
"The Brouillard will feature the final configuration of the quad-turbocharged W16 engine producing 1,600 horsepower - a mechanical swan song for a passing automotive era."
His magnificent car collection reflects the same historical rigor, tracing the brand's evolution from a racing car manufacturer to a modern hypercar powerhouse. His garage features pre-World War II historical models like the Type 30, the elegant Type 57, the supercharged Type 57C, and the iconic Type 57G Tank.
Alongside them are the EB110 Super Sport that revived the brand in the 1990s, several Veyron models in Grand Sport and Grand Sport Vitesse versions, and multiple Chiron models, including the high-speed Super Sport version.
