Israeli Eurovision Star Turns Down Pussycat Dolls Tour Offer
Former Israeli Eurovision star Michael Ben David turned down an invitation to perform on stage with The Pussycat Dolls due to Yom Kippur rehearsal conflicts.
Former Israeli Eurovision representative Michael Ben David almost scored a massive international achievement alongside one of the world's most successful girl groups, The Pussycat Dolls, but had to back out at the last moment for a surprising reason.
It all started when Ben David published a video filmed from the audience during the girl group's performance in Warsaw. The energetic clip instantly went viral, gathering over two million views and reaching Nicole Scherzinger, the iconic lead singer of the band. Scherzinger, thrilled by the Israeli singer's energy, commented: "I am obsessed with you! You have to join us on stage on tour!".
Shortly after, the comment turned into an official offer, as the production team contacted Ben David and invited him to join them on stage. Initially, he was offered to perform in Paris, but this was impossible due to prior commitments and his participation in the musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert in Israel.
The second option was to join the band's performance in Zurich, scheduled for Monday evening. However, since the show was planned to begin shortly after the end of Yom Kippur, participation would have required Ben David to fly and rehearse during Yom Kippur itself. Due to the sanctity of the day, Ben David decided to decline the glamorous offer and give up the flight and participation in the prominent show.
