Lionel Messi's emotional farewell match for Argentina against Benin has been officially scheduled for October 7. All 85,000 tickets sold out in just four minutes.
After a long wait, the date for Lionel Messi's farewell match with the Argentina national team has been set. The friendly match against Benin, where the legendary captain will wear the Albiceleste jersey for the very final time, will take place at 2:00 AM Israel time on October 7.
The World Cup runners-up will play against Bolivia on the night between Wednesday and Thursday at the Mario Alberto Kempes Stadium in Cordoba. They will host Burkina Faso at the Monumental on the night between Saturday and Sunday, and return to River Plate's stadium to face Benin in the flea's emotional match.
All 85,000 tickets for the match at the Monumental were sold out within four minutes of the ticket sales opening.
Recall that Messi announced the end of his international career on August 31, shortly after Argentina finished as World Cup runners-up in 2026.
