Undercover police officers operating inside a group of rioters in the Mea Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem arrested a minor this evening (Monday) who was filmed, according to the police, hurling stones at the forces. Two additional suspects, both 16 years old, were arrested shortly afterward on suspicion of involvement in the riots.

The incidents took place during an operation by Lev HaBira police station personnel, Jerusalem Yasam fighters, and municipal inspection in the neighborhood. As part of the activity, Palestinian flags were removed, and graffiti and paintings of Palestinian flags sprayed on walls in the public space were erased.

During the operation, a number of rioters began hurling stones and objects at the forces, who used riot dispersal means. As the police were leaving the area, a minor was identified who, according to the police, threw stones at them. Undercover detectives operating among the rioters approached and arrested him.

Subsequently, rioters gathered around a police officer near the scene. Additional forces summoned to the area worked to restore order and arrested two 16-year-old suspects on suspicion of involvement in the incident. The three suspects were transferred for questioning at the police station, while searches and ongoing investigations continue.
