Maya Kay on her relationship: 'We live like a married couple, we don't need definitions'
After a year of dating, Maya Kay shares her thoughts on her relationship status and future plans. She also addresses the recent anti-Zionist incident she encountered in Madrid.
Maya Kay is a model, actress, presenter, and now a full-fledged businesswoman, having become an investing partner in the technological lifestyle brand GLAMMIE in collaboration with Super-Pharm. We met her at the brand's first pop-up at the Ofer Ramat Aviv Mall to hear what her relationship with Amit Alexlessi looks like after a year of dating, alongside her new title.
— Are you a businesswoman?
— I am slowly stepping into these shoes, in small steps. This is my dream. I change, grow up, and evolve, but this world has opened up so many new horizons for me that I didn't know. Trying to understand what communication is, what proper commerce and customers are. I feel like I am a student right now in the world of communication, in the television work I do, in the business world. I still model here and there sometimes.
— You celebrated a year with your partner, what is the next step — living together?
— We are in a smart relationship, it will happen soon. We live like a married couple, we don't need headlines or definitions.
— A married couple, meaning you intend to settle down with him?
— That is the goal, I wish for myself that it is.
Last week, Kay shared an unpleasant incident she experienced at a restaurant in Madrid while sitting with her mother, when suddenly one of the diners who heard them speaking Hebrew pointed a Palestinian flag at them. She decided not to remain indifferent and posted a series of stories in which she condemned the pro-Palestinian activist:
'Did someone talk to you? Did someone say something to you? You piece of ugly, and what is this shirt and your pathetic Xiaomi. Before you express an opinion, maybe go get a haircut or buy deodorant, you sweaty from the stench you have here. And also every moment the screen turns off and he turns it on. — Recently you shared an anti-Zionist incident you experienced in Madrid, how are you now?
— I must apologize if I was blunt — I grew up in a boarding school after all. Everything is fine, let me release my anger properly. It was unpleasant but one needs to take it lightly. I just don't like ignorance and it was important for me to share. Next time I will phrase it more gently.
