West Ham United's 3-1 defeat against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday has intensified pressure on the club, yet it may present a renewed opportunity for Israeli winger Manor Solomon. Solomon lost his place in the starting lineup in the previous round, with manager Nuno Espirito Santo opting to start Norwegian player Edwin Austbo on the left flank.

However, Austbo's disappointing performance drew criticism across England, with the West Ham Zone website identifying Solomon as the primary beneficiary of the tactical dilemma. The outlet awarded Austbo a rating of 3 out of 10, while Solomon, who came on as a substitute in the 60th minute for Divine Mukasa, received a 5 out of 10.

Journalist James Barker assessed the ongoing competition between the two wingers: "Solomon's case for a regular starting role only grew stronger following Austbo's display this afternoon." Meanwhile, Claret & Hugh was less impressed with the Israeli international, handing him a 4 out of 10 rating and noting that he failed to inject the necessary attacking spark.

This consecutive second league defeat drops West Ham to eighth place in the Championship standings, mounting pressure on Nuno. During the match, visiting and home supporters chanted "sacked in the morning" toward the manager. Solomon will now look to reclaim his starting berth when West Ham travels to face Cardiff City on Wednesday in the 14th round of the Championship.
