Former AG Mandelblit Resumes Testimony in Netanyahu Trial
Former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit resumes his testimony in the Netanyahu trial at the Jerusalem District Court, facing defense questioning regarding early investigative procedures.

Former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit is set to resume his testimony Tuesday through Thursday at the Jerusalem District Court in the ongoing corruption trial of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Mandelblit, who filed the indictments in Cases 1000, 2000, and 4000, was summoned by Netanyahu defense attorneys Amit Hadad and Noa Milstein.
During last week's two-day testimony, Hadad focused heavily on investigative procedures conducted prior to the formal authorization given by the Attorney General to investigate Netanyahu. While Mandelblit maintained that all his decisions were based strictly on professional judgment and that proper approvals were granted, he also acknowledged lacking prior knowledge of certain specific investigative tactics used by police.
The rare cross-examination of a former Attorney General by the defense of a sitting official highlights an extraordinary legal chapter in Israel. The court will determine the remaining scope and duration of Hadad's questioning as the proceedings continue this week.
