Manchester United Held to 1:1 Draw by Tottenham Amid Deepening Crisis
Manchester United drew 1:1 with Tottenham at Old Trafford, marking their worst Premier League start in 40 years with only six points from six games.
Manchester United continues to break negative records, and a 1:1 home draw against Tottenham on Saturday deepened the crisis at Old Trafford. The Red Devils have accumulated only six points in their first six Premier League matches, marking their worst start to a season in 40 years.
Crisis of the Red Devils
The figures illustrate the magnitude of the drop. United has won only once in six league games this season, recording three draws and two losses. In contrast, during 17 league matches under Michael Carrick last season, the team suffered only two defeats and secured 12 victories. Boos echoed around Old Trafford already at halftime and returned at the final whistle.
"It was a mixed game. We struggled at the beginning for several reasons. You could see this is a challenging period, but the players got into the game, and in the second phase, we were better in every aspect," Carrick noted after the match.
Tottenham's Late Equalizer
Tottenham is also far from satisfied with its current standing. Roberto De Zerbi's team remains without a league win this season, collecting only three points from six matches, yet managed to escape the bottom of the table. Dominic Solanke scored the late equalizer in the 92nd minute, rescuing a point for the visitors after Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off.
