Majd al-Krum Resident Released After Arrest at Galilee Land Protest

Sajud Badran, a young resident of Majd al-Krum, shared details of her interrogation following her release after a protest against a controversial compound established in the Al-Rus area on JNF-owned land.

Badran was arrested during the demonstration, which sparked clashes over the compound that residents claimed was an illegal outpost, while the Jewish National Fund stated it was related to local grazing activities. Following her release under restrictive conditions, including five days of house arrest, Badran stated during an interview that she defended her participation by asserting opposition to what she termed oppression and threats to Arab life in the region. She also quoted verses by poet Hanna Ibrahim, which included nationalist slogans directed against Zionism.

Simultaneously, Alon-Lee Green, an activist from the "Standing Together" movement, was also arrested during the protests. The encampment set up by protesters has since been dismantled, amid ongoing tensions surrounding land use in the Galilee region.
