Maccabi Tel Aviv faces a major setback as guard Iffe Lundberg, sidelined since suffering a quadriceps tendon tear in training last month, is now expected to miss an additional three months. According to new medical evaluations, the Danish guard will remain out of action at least until February, compounding the team's ongoing crisis following six consecutive defeats across all competitions, including Friday's loss to Partizan in Belgrade.

Initially, club officials estimated a recovery period of six to eight weeks for the partial tear, but sources close to the management now indicate a significantly longer rehabilitation process. Despite a poor start to the EuroLeague and Winner League seasons, the club's management continues to back head coach Oded Kattash, confirming his position remains secure. Sporting director Claudio Coldebella emphasized that firing Kattash is not under consideration, though he acknowledged the search for squad reinforcements is ongoing.

Maccabi will return to action on Monday to face Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Winner Cup final. Three days later, the Yellow-and-Blue will clash with their cross-town rivals once again in the first EuroLeague Tel Aviv derby of the season, which will be hosted at the Spyros Kyprianou Arena in Limassol, Cyprus, serving as Maccabi's temporary European home.
