A two-year-old toddler drowned this afternoon, Monday, in a pool at a private home in the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. Medical teams summoned to the scene found the child unconscious and evacuated him by helicopter; medical staff are currently fighting for his life.

Around 17:12, a report was received at the 101 emergency dispatch center of Magen David Adom in the Jerusalem district regarding the drowning. Medics and paramedics arrived at the scene and provided initial life-saving treatment. Following the intervention, a decision was made for urgent evacuation, and the toddler was flown by helicopter to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. Resuscitation efforts continued throughout the transport, and the child's condition is currently defined as critical.

Magen David Adom medics Raphael Toledano, Elia Binyamin, and Ari Rabinowitz, who treated the toddler, recounted the dramatic moments at the scene: "Upon our arrival, the toddler was brought to us completely unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing. The medical team immediately began advanced resuscitation procedures, including chest compressions, artificial respiration, and the administration of medication. We did not cease our efforts until he was loaded onto the helicopter for continued treatment at the hospital."
