Israeli Delegation Opens London Stock Exchange Amid British Sanctions
Despite British sanctions and political tensions, an Israeli delegation led by Roee Fisher opened trading at the London Stock Exchange for Israel Innovation Day 2026, highlighting robust bilateral trade exceeding 6 billion pounds.
Days after the British government tightened its policy against Israel and imposed severe sanctions and restrictions, particularly on activities in the Западный берег (West Bank), an Israeli delegation opened trading at the London Stock Exchange. Innovation Delegation and Strong Trade Relations
The innovation event featured a delegation of 22 Israeli companies presenting advanced technologies, alongside 10 leading venture capital funds that showcased innovative solutions in cyber, fintech, cleantech, and artificial intelligence to British investors and corporations. The delegation was led by Роэ Фишер (Roee Fisher), head of the Foreign Trade Administration at the Ministry of Economy, with the participation of the economic attachés, Israel's embassy in the UK, and the Israel Export Institute. Economic Ties Despite Political Hostility
Trade volume between Israel and the UK currently stands at over 6 billion pounds, demonstrating mutual trust between businesses and investors on both sides despite the hostility of the Labour Party government. The British government recently led an initiative for a trade embargo on settlement produce, joined by 12 nations.
