Three indictments were filed on Tuesday against suspects involved in the assault of police officers in Lod, after a routine traffic stop involving an electric scooter escalated into a violent confrontation that left two officers injured.

The incident took place on September 26 during operational activities by Lod police station officers. The officers stopped an electric scooter rider for inspection, and while one of them was issuing a traffic ticket, the rider threatened him, stating, "Take off your uniform, I have no problem going back to prison because of you."

Subsequently, the officers moved to arrest the rider, triggering a violent melee during which, according to the police, two officers were assaulted. Additional forces were dispatched to the scene, restored order, and detained the suspects. One officer sustained minor injuries requiring medical evacuation and hospitalization, while a female officer suffered bruises during the altercation.

Lod police launched an investigation that led to the arrest of the suspects and the gathering of evidence. Upon completion of the probe, indictments were filed against three individuals. The charges include aggravated assault of police officers in a group, aggravated assault, obstructing an officer in the performance of their duty, and making threats.
