Liverpool Seeks Champions League Recovery Against LASK in Austria
Liverpool seeks to bounce back from a defeat against Manchester City as they face LASK in Austria for the Champions League, despite playing with a heavily depleted squad.

Liverpool is currently attempting to recover from a 3-0 defeat against Manchester City at Anfield as they visit LASK in Austria for the second matchday of the Champions League league phase. The Reds, who suffered their first defeat of the season against City, opened their European campaign with a 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid and are now seeking their second consecutive win in the tournament.
Liverpool arrived at the fixture with a heavily depleted squad, missing stars Alexander Isak, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Cody Gakpo, in addition to the injured Hugo Ekitike, Giovanni Leoni, and Conor Bradley. Due to these absences, the manager was forced to improvise in the attacking line, with Bradley Barcola, Florian Wirtz, Rio Ngumoha, and Luis Koumas carrying the offensive burden.
Virgil van Dijk started on the bench alongside Milos Kerkez and Alexis Mac Allister. Meanwhile, LASK enters the match following four games without a win across all competitions and nine consecutive matches without a win in European group or league stages, though they have lost only twice in their last 16 home matches in Europe.
