Lior Narkis embroiled in a massive lawsuit: will he have to part with 1.25 million shekels?
After discovering that a replacement was being sought behind his back, the guitarist for the well-known singer decided to turn to the Labor Court with a demand for massive compensation. All the details.
Seven years of close cooperation between singer Lior Narkis and his regular guitarist, Avi Ben Shitrit, ended on a sour note and at the doorstep of the Labor Court. Ben Shitrit filed a lawsuit for approximately 1.24 million shekels against Narkis and the company "L. Narkis Productions" at the Regional Labor Court in Be'er Sheva, alleging the denial of social rights and wrongful termination.
According to the statement of claim, although the guitarist was defined as a freelancer and issued invoices, in practice, full employer-employee relations existed between them. The plaintiff points to the exclusivity requirement imposed on him since 2019, which tied him to Narkis's performances as his almost sole source of income.
As revealed today (Thursday) in "Israel Hayom", the final explosion occurred on the day of a performance at Havat Ronit, when Ben Shitrit discovered that the production team was looking for a replacement behind his back. After he confronted the managers about the issue, he was suddenly removed from the band's WhatsApp group — a move that he claims constitutes immediate dismissal without a hearing.
The musician, who has also accompanied artists such as Eden Ben Zaken and Dudu Aharon in the past, is now demanding severe compensation for these actions. No response to the allegations has yet been received from Lior Narkis or the production company.
