Lior Berkovic on His Religious Journey: "I Took Responsibility"
Lior Berkovic, son of media personality Eyal Berkovic, has opened up about his personal religious journey. Since retiring from football, he has been sharing his experiences with tradition on his podcasts.

Lior Berkovic, son of media personality Eyal Berkovic, continues his career in the media world after officially retiring from football at the age of 26. Today, he participates in two podcasts from "HaPodium", including "The Magician and His Sons" alongside his father, which receives wide exposure and thousands of listens and views.
In the latest episode of the podcast "The National Sweetheart", Lior told his friend Aner Shechter, brother of the "Golstar" coach and football commentator, about the personal process he is undergoing and his strengthening in religion. "You know that I have strengthened a lot. About two weeks ago, I made Kiddush alone at home. I didn't want to go to my parents' house on Friday, so I did it alone. I remembered that I have a kippah, I went down to buy wine and challah. I felt good about myself," he revealed.
Berko Junior said that the connection to tradition was present in the family home over the years, but recently he decided to take on more responsibility. "At mom's, they always do Kiddush, usually my sister's husband does it. Suddenly there was a Kiddush where he wasn't there, so I took the responsibility upon myself." Later, Lior spoke about the next step he is planning as part of the process: "Every time something small, the next path is purchasing tefillin."
