A senior commander in the intelligence apparatus of the Houthi terrorist organization was eliminated this week along with one of his escorts in a mysterious operation in Sana'a. Media and local sources reported that the Houthi commander was shot by gunmen while passing in his vehicle near the local airport. The gunmen managed to retreat from the scene without their identities or the party behind the operation being revealed.

Following the incident, a widespread security deployment of militia members was recorded in the vicinity, alongside the blocking of several roads and the imposition of strict measures. The circumstances of the blockade were not published in an attempt to prevent a leak of information that could reveal its background. This comes at a time when civil order within the terrorist organization has reached a state of anarchy in the territory under their control.

This is not the first time such an elimination has taken place recently. According to Saudi media, quite a few targeted eliminations, both successful and unsuccessful, have occurred, directed against Houthi commanders and terrorists. The kingdom further added that the success of the latest operation, despite the senior official being under extensive security, together with the unusual conduct of the terrorist organization, raises questions regarding the Houthis' control over their areas.

Sources who spoke to the media in Yemen noted that the escalation in elimination events in areas controlled by the Houthis reflects the fragility of the terrorist organization's security system. Furthermore, the elimination exposes the latent conflict between the various factions in the Iranian militia, who are fighting over influence, resources, and leadership positions.
