Lily Ben-Ami joins Yisrael Beiteinu: "We will lead the country to where it needs to be"
The founder of the Michal Sela Forum for the prevention of violence against women has joined the Yisrael Beiteinu party. Ben-Ami established the organization following the murder of her sister. In 2019, she ran for the Knesset with the Labor Party.
Lily Ben-Ami, founder of the Michal Sela Forum, announced today, Thursday, that she is joining the Yisrael Beiteinu party led by Avigdor Lieberman.
"The State of Israel needs leadership that is connected to the ground, makes decisions, and determines the priorities across the many fronts it faces. There is no such thing as 'impossible'," Ben-Ami stated.
In her statement regarding the move, she added: "Over the years, I have built and managed systems that harnessed the world's best experts to tackle challenges considered unsolvable. The State of Israel has everything it needs to stand at the global forefront of security and technology. I have seen this firsthand in my work as a CEO. For leaders who know how to harness these forces, the sky is not the limit."
She explained her decision: "I chose to join Yisrael Beiteinu because Avigdor Lieberman is a strong leader with extensive experience, courage, unconventional thinking, and a proven ability to execute. Together, we will strengthen our country and lead it to where it needs to be—first in security and innovation, and strong in education and mutual responsibility."
Ben-Ami is an entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in personal security, innovation, and education. Following the murder of her sister, Michal Sela, in 2019, she dedicated her life to saving lives and developing smart solutions to prevent domestic violence. That same year, she was placed 22nd on the Labor Party list under then-chairman Avi Gabbay.
Under her leadership, she established a nationally recognized organization that assists thousands of families annually. She has developed advanced personal security technologies and life-saving educational tools that have reached millions of homes. Notably, she was instrumental in advancing legislation to strip guardianship rights from a parent who has committed murder, attempted murder, or rape within the family.
