Likud Rejects Ben Gvir Claims

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ruling Likud party issued a sharp statement on Sunday responding to Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, accusing him of engaging in "false political spins and friendly fire." The response came after Ben Gvir claimed that the Prime Minister's Office had assured European Union member states that the Otzma Yehudit party would not be included in the next government coalition.

Coalition Commitment and Warnings

Likud categorically rejected the allegations, clarifying Netanyahu's stance on the upcoming political landscape. "The exact opposite is true," the party stated, emphasizing that any future government will continue to rely on the current coalition base, while remaining open to Zionist factions willing to join under established foundational guidelines.

"Now we must vote to prevent a left-wing government of Eisenkot with the Arab parties, Yair Golan, Lieberman, and Bennett, and complete the necessary security mission together with our American friends," Likud declared in its official statement.

Political Friction Ahead of Elections

This verbal clash highlights growing tensions within the right-wing bloc as political actors position themselves for future electoral contests. Ben Gvir has consistently argued that a robust Otzma Yehudit is essential to keeping Netanyahu in power, warning that undermining his faction risks weakening the entire nationalist camp.
