Ex-wife of Hanan Ben Ari recalls emergency surgery: "It was sheer terror"
Author and journalist Hadassa Ben Ari marked her youngest daughter's third birthday by revealing the terrifying moments she endured in the delivery room: "An emergency surgery in the middle of the night. Because of the sheer terror that fell upon me, I couldn't even remember the words of the Shema Yisrael. Thank God for watching over us."
In a moving moment, author and journalist Hadassa Ben Ari, a mother of seven and the ex-wife of singer Hanan Ben Ari, chose to mark the third birthday of her youngest daughter, Ori Shoshana, with a personal and vulnerable confession from the delivery room.
In a post shared with her followers, Ben Ari revisited the terrifying moments she experienced three years ago, when she had to undergo emergency surgery in the middle of the night. "A moment before, I tried to say the 'Shema Yisrael', but because of the sheer terror that fell upon me, I couldn't remember the words," she shared candidly.
She recounted how she sang the song "Sadot" ("Fields") by singer Narkis to her daughter to overcome the immense fear, adding with gratitude: "Thank you God for watching over us. And now, just to run to the fields, the heavens will open."
This emotional post comes just a week after Ben Ari shared another vulnerable reflection with her followers regarding her complex feelings and the financial and emotional challenges of life.
"What do I do when my heart is turned off?" she wrote. "Tell me what is better: an awake and hungry heart or a quiet and satisfied heart? The problem with a hungry heart is that it will never be satisfied... It must fall in love all the time, be in motion. It must live. I have no answers, but I have a melody."
