Journalist Haim Levinson returned to the Keshet 12 studio for the first time since his professional split from Ofira Asayag. Appearing on the show "Ofira Ohana Seri," Levinson faced his former co-host for an emotional and candid conversation about the crisis that ended their successful partnership.
Right at the start of the meeting, Asayag directly addressed her feelings regarding the departure. "Actually, you betrayed me. But we will talk about the betrayal personally in a moment," Asayag told Levinson. He responded: "Betrayed me? I don't know, that's a bit of a harsh word," but Asayag stood firmly by her statement.
A Painful Professional Split
"No, no, no, no, no. Harsh is Ofira. I define how I feel, you know me, right? Haim, you betrayed me," Asayag said. She later added that she took the professional parting harder than her high-profile separation from former co-host Eyal Berkovic, noting that it felt deeply personal after their intense year-and-a-half run together.
"I took the separation with you harder than the separation from Berkovic," Asayag confessed during the tense yet warm studio reunion.
Looking Back at the Controversy
The meeting comes months after the major journalistic controversy that led to Levinson's departure from the daily newspaper Haaretz and his exit from the shared television slot. Reports previously revealed that Levinson received approximately 200,000 shekels from Perception, a firm owned by political consultant Srulik Einhorn, for work conducted between 2019 and 2024.
While Levinson acknowledged performing the work, he denied any connection to the wider Qatar affair and admitted he made a mistake by failing to disclose the business relationship given his journalistic beat. Asayag has since continued her broadcasting career alongside new co-hosts Amir Ohana and Danny Seri, rebranding the weekend program to "Ofira Ohana Seri."
