The couple, who tied the knot in September 2021, are currently in the United States and will soon return to their home in north London. Their daughter arrived nearly two weeks past her due date. "Thirteen days late, against a backdrop of a solar eclipse and a meteor shower, she announced her arrival," Dunham wrote, referencing the celestial events of August 12.
A Journey to Parenthood
Reflecting on the birth, Dunham described the powerful moment in the hospital room. "I sat on a hospital bed, between the legs of a woman I hadn’t known a year ago, waiting for a glimpse of this person I’d been waiting for," she shared. She also opened up about the emotional complexities of surrogacy, noting that she initially expected to feel jealousy toward the surrogate, but instead felt a profound sense of awe and a different kind of envy for the baby entering such a safe embrace.
