Shin Bet joins investigation into attacks on media outlets

The investigation into attacks on media outlets is intensifying. Following a series of incidents in which stones were thrown at the buildings of 'Hadashot 12' and 'Haaretz', it was decided on Tuesday to involve the Shin Bet in the investigation. The inquiry will be conducted jointly by the Shin Bet and the crime-fighting unit of the Dan region in the Tel Aviv District.

This development comes after the glass doors at the entrance to the 'Hadashot 12' news building in Tel Aviv were shattered once again last night. This is the second incident in less than a month causing damage to the building, and investigators are now examining whether all the events are connected and who is behind them.

In security camera footage from last night, the suspect is seen approaching the building with his face covered, holding two bricks and throwing them one after the other at the entrance doors. The glass shattered, and the suspect fled the scene before security forces arrived.

'Hadashot 12' issued a statement warning:

"We are waking up to another morning, the second in less than a month, in which dangerous violence runs rampant and shatters the doors of our newsroom. This is a real alarm! The blood of 'Hadashot 12' journalists is not cheap."

"The Israeli government and the Minister of Communications must cease their inciting and unrestrained attacks on the free press, which lead to serious acts. The Israel Police must act immediately to stop this dangerous violence. We will not be deterred even in the face of legislation, incitement, and violence," they added.
