Monologue of an attacked Hapoel Jerusalem fan: "They beat me with clubs, my brother was hit with a rock"

Hapoel Jerusalem remains in shock following the violent events that occurred yesterday after their 5:2 loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv. Minutes after the final whistle, a confrontation erupted in the area where the visiting fans were traveling, as they were attacked by a group of Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters.

The incident involved the use of pepper spray and clubs, vehicle damage, and theft. Two Hapoel Jerusalem fans were evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment. The club responded sharply, demanding that the police take action against those involved.

"We are receiving testimonies, photos, and videos in which some of the attackers can be easily identified, and we demand that the police deal with the rioters. We are sure that Maccabi Tel Aviv will distance these criminals from its crowd; otherwise, what is all this football worth?" the club stated.

One of the victims described the sequence of events:

"My brother's friend was filming on his phone. Suddenly, the fans fell upon him, shouting, 'What are you filming? Delete it!' He deleted it, of course. Shortly after, they tried to snatch the phone, smashed the car windows, and broke inside."

He continued, describing how the violence escalated:

"My brother tried to help the guy whose phone they were trying to steal and was struck in the head with a club. At that stage, they started throwing stones."

The victim explained that he tried to de-escalate the situation:

"I stood in front of them with my hands spread to the sides, not trying to hit anyone. But one guy just walked up and struck me in the face with a club."

Both brothers were injured. "My brother was hit in the head with a huge rock. He is in much worse condition. He is conscious and talking, but he lost a lot of blood. It was a serious incident," he said. Maccabi Tel Aviv has not yet issued a statement condemning the events.
