Ministry of Communications Announces New Head of Public Relations
Zion Abuna has been selected as the new Director of the Spokesperson, Communications and Public Relations Division at the Ministry of Communications, succeeding Eli Hershkovitz.
The Director General of the Ministry of Communications, Elad Makdasi, has announced the appointment of Zion Abuna as the new Director of the Spokesperson, Communications and Public Relations Division. Selected following a competitive tender process, Abuna will officially assume her role next week, joining the ministry's senior management team. She succeeds Eli Hershkovitz, who is stepping down after three years in the position.
Abuna, a captain in the IDF Spokesperson's Unit reserves, holds a double bachelor's degree in law and government, as well as a master's degree in law specializing in public and criminal law. A former prosecutor in the State Attorney's Office (Central District), she brings extensive experience in communication strategy, crisis management, and public relations. Previously, she served as the spokesperson for ORT Israel and as VP of Communications and Marketing at the Presidency of the Business Sector.
Elad Makdasi, Director General of the Ministry of Communications, stated:

Makdasi further added:

Eli managed the Spokesperson's Division with great professionalism, leading public relations efforts on critical issues such as emergency communications, the phase-out of 2G and 3G networks, fiber optic pricing reforms, and the deployment of Starlink systems."
Zion Abuna remarked on her new role:
