Yalla Galil Festival Cancelled Following Eden Ben Zaken's Participation

The Yalla Galil festival, scheduled to take place in Beit Jann, has been cancelled following the participation of Eden Ben Zaken. In a statement, local council head Nazih Dabour explained that the performances were called off in an effort to de-escalate tensions:

"In light of real concerns regarding potential conflicts during the festival... it was decided not to hold the event at this time. Strength does not lie in one side breaking the will of another, but in preventing bloodshed today and ensuring that fear does not dictate how we will live tomorrow."

According to a source familiar with the matter, village sheikhs opposed the performance, fearing it would attract Muslims from neighboring villages. The source noted that threats were made to block roads and use force, with local youth being incited against the event during recent prayers. In addition to Eden Ben Zaken, the Revivo Project was also slated to perform. The festival's website has officially announced the postponement.

In his full address to the villagers, Dabour stated:

"I respect the right of everyone to support or oppose the festival, and I respect the position of our religious leaders. However, threatening with force cannot become a means of decision-making in our village. As head of the council for all residents, my primary responsibility is to protect everyone. This decision is not a concession or a victory for one side over the other; it is a responsible choice aimed at preventing conflict. We will continue to work toward holding events in a manner that ensures public safety and guarantees the rights of all."
