The head of the Caucasian mafia, Yanis Yushbaev, 45, from Or Akiva, was murdered today (Sunday) in a shooting at a gas station near Caesarea. Yushbaev was considered one of the most prominent and dangerous intelligence targets of the Hadera Police and the Central Unit of the Coastal District. According to preliminary information, the assassin did not hide his face, and the police are working to identify him using the shooting footage.
In recent years, Yushbaev has been arrested multiple times on suspicion of involvement in a series of serious incidents, including throwing fragmentation grenades at homes and businesses in Hadera and Or Akiva, shooting at private homes, and setting fire to dozens of vehicles.
MDA teams that arrived at the scene found him unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, suffering from significant penetrating injuries. After initial treatment and resuscitation efforts, he was evacuated in critical condition to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera, where his death was pronounced.
Officers from the Hadera station have opened a murder investigation, collected evidence at the scene, and begun searching for suspects. The Police Commissioner, Rav-Nitzav Dani Levy, arrived at the scene. The police noted that the investigation is in its initial stages.
