Police Spokesperson Unit Head Who Was Questioned to Move to Another Senior Position

A shake-up in the police spokesperson's unit: Brigadier General Lior Abudraham, who was questioned as part of the affair involving Minister Itamar Ben Gvir's associates, is expected to end his tenure as head of the spokesperson's unit while simultaneously advancing to another senior position in the police. This was learned this evening, Wednesday.
It was further learned that, in parallel, advanced negotiations are underway, on the verge of being finalized, with former police spokesperson Eli Levy, with the aim of having him return to the position of head of the spokesperson's unit.
Brigadier General Abudraham is the key witness against Israel Prison Service Commissioner Kobi Yaakobi in the Ben Gvir associates affair. He was the one who testified at the Police Investigation Department (Mahash), as part of an open testimony, that Yaakobi had updated Colonel Avishai Moalem that an investigation was being conducted against him. Since then, Yaakobi has accused Abudraham of maintaining an illicit relationship with a Mahash investigator who was involved in the investigation. Both denied the allegations.
Abudraham served as assistant to the Police Commissioner at the time he provided the open testimony in the affair. In his questioning, he noted that he had contacted the head of Mahash, attorney Keren Bar Menachem, directly to receive information regarding conflicts of interest for officers against whom investigations were being conducted.
