Content creator Sun Koral, who has been frequently sharing with her followers her process of drawing closer to religion and faith, now reveals a new and significant stage in her personal journey. In a special video uploaded to her Instagram account in honor of the month of Elul, Koral shared that she has taken upon herself two central commitments for forty days: shmirat negiah (refraining from physical touch) and shmirat lashon (guarding one's tongue).
In her words, the social media star explained that for her, this is not just a halachic prohibition, but a powerful tool for setting personal boundaries and discovering self-worth. Koral shared that avoiding physical contact allows for examining relationships in the cleanest way possible, checking whether the other side provides respect, listening, and real investment even without immediate physical reward.
"Shmirat negiah teaches patience, and not everything good needs to happen fast. When there is no touch, suddenly you can see the person in front of you in the cleanest way. Our sages said that love that depends on something will cease, and I want love that is built first of all on respect, trust, and values. A man who respects you only when it is convenient for him, does not truly respect you."
Alongside this personal confession, Koral uploaded a detailed list of steps for spiritual strengthening, including reading a chapter of Psalms, observing Shabbat, studying Torah, and honoring parents, suggesting that her followers choose one small commitment for the next forty days.
