Cristiano Ronaldo continues to expand his professional footprint beyond the pitch. According to a report in 'The Sun', the Portugal and Al-Nassr star will serve as executive producer and appear in a new drama series titled 'Day 1s', which explores the high-stakes world of football agents in England.
The plot centers on Stanley Dalton, a fictional player agent portrayed by British actor Damian Lewis, known for his roles in 'Homeland' and 'Billions'. Filming is already underway, with Lewis spotted recently at Barnet stadium in northwest London. Reports suggest that French football legend Thierry Henry is also expected to participate. The series is based on a concept developed by player agent Darren Dein, who represents Henry among others.
A source familiar with the project indicated that the series is expected to generate significant interest among major streaming platforms:
"With the names involved and the impressive cast, this is a prestigious project. It is also a surprising step for Ronaldo, who is entering the world of television dramas."
The series is produced by UR•Marv Studios, a company founded by Ronaldo in partnership with British director Matthew Vaughn, known for films such as 'Kingsman' and 'Kick-Ass'. The project also features British rapper Dave and young actress Carlotta Benat. Upon the company's launch earlier this year, Vaughn stated: "Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I would never have been able to write. I look forward to creating inspiring films with him." Ronaldo himself addressed the collaboration, saying: "This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look forward to new challenges."
