Ahead of the Holidays: Lufthansa Expands Operations in Israel
Despite security concerns, Lufthansa is preparing for the holiday season and the expected surge in travel demand, continuing to expand its flight operations in Israel.
Regardless of the security situation, the Lufthansa Group is preparing for the upcoming holiday period and the anticipated rise in demand for air travel, continuing to expand its operations in Israel.
Throughout September, the group, which also includes Eurowings, plans to operate up to 67 weekly flights between Israel and Europe—a significant increase from the 54 weekly flights operated during August.
As part of this expansion, Lufthansa will operate two daily flights on the Tel Aviv–Frankfurt route and two daily flights on the Tel Aviv–Munich route. Swiss will also increase its presence, operating two daily flights on the Tel Aviv–Zurich route.
Austrian Airlines is expanding its offerings on the Tel Aviv–Vienna route, operating two daily flights with a third added on select days. Meanwhile, Brussels Airlines, which resumed operations in Israel today, plans to operate three weekly flights between Brussels and Tel Aviv in September. Eurowings will continue its service with four weekly flights: three to Düsseldorf and one to Hamburg.
This expansion comes as foreign airlines gradually return to Israel, meeting the high demand expected ahead of the Tishrei holidays. The increased flight frequency will add thousands of seats on sought-after routes to Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Belgium, providing more options for Israeli travelers.
