Netanyahu's former confidant breaks silence: "Power corrupts. Enough"

Yoav Horowitz was one of the people closest to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He served as his confidant, a significant power center in his office, and held a series of senior positions in government management.

Horowitz served as the Prime Minister's Chief of Staff and Director-General of the Prime Minister's Office. In addition, he managed current and most sensitive affairs with ministers, politicians, and media outlets. Ahead of the upcoming elections, Yoav Horowitz stands before the cameras and opens up about everything in an interview with Lior Keinan on Channel 13.

In the conversation with her, Horowitz explains why he chose to go as far as possible from Netanyahu and join Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the "Yashar" party. In the distributed video, Yoav Horowitz tells about the conversations he held with the Prime Minister while expressing criticism of his conduct:

"He used to tell me: 'Yoav, if I am not here, there is nothing here'. There are no boundaries and the personal issue is always before everything. He receives a call from home and while walking he turns to me and says: 'Yoav, I have changed my mind. Tell them it is cancelled'".

Later, the former Netanyahu associate addressed his long-standing tenure and announced that he supports a change of government. The former official explained his words and said: "Power corrupts the perception of reality. The line between truth and lies is blurred". When asked to convey a sharp and clear message to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Yoav Horowitz turned to the cameras and said: "Enough is enough".

As recalled, Yoav Horowitz, former Director-General of the Prime Minister's Office, resigned from his position in June 2019. Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the departure of the senior official in his office: "Yoav was at the central junctions of action and helped me a lot in important work for the State of Israel. I am sure he will continue to succeed in his future path". Yoav Horowitz thanked the Prime Minister: "Thank you for the opportunity and the trust I received from him and for the privilege to work alongside him and serve the citizens of Israel and the State of Israel".
