The 'Pink Suitcases' affair at yes: The reason for censoring two stars is revealed
Against the backdrop of the release of the series 'Pink Suitcases', it is revealed that the project's production received legal warnings from some of those involved in the case. One of them even filmed and backed out at the last moment.
The documentary series 'Pink Suitcases' from yes deals with the case of the same name that began in January 2023, with the apprehension of four young Israeli women who smuggled over 15 kg of cocaine into the country from Berlin.
However, the series focuses on only two suspects: Arbel Mizrahi, who was sentenced to 22 months in prison, and Orel Ben Haim, who was sentenced to 34 months in prison. Now, the reason why the other two young women, Lee Pony and Idan Tzauber, are censored is revealed.
It was published on mako that the production of the series encountered a complex legal obstacle when Lee and Idan sent stern warnings to the production staff. In the letters, the creators were warned not to broadcast footage featuring them in the series or as part of its marketing campaigns, as non-compliance could lead to the filing of a lawsuit.
Furthermore, one of the two even cooperated fully with the film crew and was filmed for the series. However, at the last moment, she demanded that all segments in which she appears be completely shelved.
Attorney Lia Plus, representing Idan Tzauber, stated in response to mako:
'I do not intend to comment on the content of these matters as they are protected by attorney-client privilege, however, this is a highly publicized case that has deeply penetrated the private lives of the defendants for a long time, and therefore, one can understand the request of some of them to keep for themselves — at the end of the criminal proceedings — what remains of their privacy, and wish them to leverage the rehabilitation process and choose the good.'
Attorney Shahar Hazroni from the Noy-Sanens-Sheferling-Hazroni firm, representing Lee Pony, told mako: 'My client never threatened a lawsuit against any production company.' No response was received from yes or the creators of 'Pink Suitcases'.
