Now, Google is bringing a significant update and allowing you to remove it completely.

How does it work and what is changing?
Google has launched a new setting that allows users of Gemini and the video creation tool Flow to turn off the visible watermark. The change applies to images created with the Nano Banana model, videos created with Veo, and music created using Lyria. The new setting is currently rolling out to users and will later arrive in Google Search as well. It is important to know that removing the mark only affects new files you create after changing the setting, and will not retroactively remove the logo from files you have already downloaded to your computer or phone.
Although the visible shimmer disappears, your creations do not become unidentifiable. Google continues to embed invisible watermarks in files, such as SynthID technology and C2PA data. These marks are embedded in the file's code without affecting its appearance or sound, and allow for the identification of AI-generated content using tools like Google Lens or the "About this image" feature. Additionally, platforms like YouTube still require labeling realistic content created with artificial intelligence.
How to do it yourself
To disable the watermark in Gemini, enter the app or website, click on your profile picture, and open the settings menu. There, look for the "Media watermark" option and turn off the toggle. If you are using the video tool Flow, click on your profile picture, find the "Visible watermark" option in the drop-down menu, and turn off the switch before your next creation. Please note that in countries such as India, South Korea, and Vietnam, the watermark is applied automatically and cannot be removed.
