The White House, along with officials in the American administration and Congress, have expressed outrage over the incident in Qusra and demanded clarifications from Israel. Administration sources stated in conversations with Israeli officials that they are shocked by the events and questioned the underlying reasons. In the US, difficult questions are being raised about whether anarchy prevails in Israel and how it is possible that the army is not preventing harm to Palestinians. The incident is particularly embarrassing for friends of Israel within the administration. Advisors to President Donald Trump have contacted Israel to express their anger.

Two days ago, it was reported that the Tel Talpiot outpost has recently been used as a base for establishing additional settlements in the area. One such site was established near Palestinian homes in the village of Qusra, and the presence of settlers there has led to heightened tensions. Footage distributed from the area shows IDF soldiers praying alongside Israelis staying at the outpost.
